A submission is flagged as bypassed only when at least one response in result.answers is exactly "" and that same question received non-zero marks in scores. Empty-string answers with 0 marks are treated as normal unanswered attempts and are not counted as bypass. null values are also not counted as bypass under this logic. The Honest Average is recalculated after excluding only these bypass-flagged submissions, so the metric reflects students who genuinely attempted the questions.
